The Creative Writing Program is pleased to present a reading by author Chika Unigwe on Tuesday, February 5th.  This event will take place at Ciné (234 W Hancock Ave, Athens, GA 30601) from 7-9 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Unigwe is a Nigerian writer who now lives in the United States. She is the author of four novels, as well as numerous short stories and essays.   Her books include The Phoenix, On Black Sisters’ Street, Night Dancer, and The Black Messiah. In 2014, she was selected for the Hay Festival's Africa39 list of 39 Sub-Saharan African writers aged under 40 with potential and talent to define future trends in African literature.
