Nathan Dixon

Nathan Dixon is a fourth-year PhD student in the English Department focusing on creative writing and modern American literature.  His primary areas of interest lie in the 19th and 20th centuries, specifically in emerging and regional modernism(s), Native American literature, and discourses between the American and the global south.  His earlier critical work focused on the English Renaissance, and two of his critical articles have been published in Renaissance Papers where he previously served as Assistant Editor.  His current projects include an allegorical novel decrying the hypocrisy of fundamentalism, a long-form hybridized essay on the multiple concepts of consent, and a study framing the composite novel as ergodic literature and measuring the labyrinthine move toward meta-fiction.  His creative work has appeared in Tin House, The Georgia Review, the North Carolina Literary Review, NAILED, Echoverse Anthology, Dreginald, and the Northern Virginia Review among others.  His one act play “Thoughts & Prayers Inc.” was chosen by National Book Award Winner Nikky Finney as Winner of the Agnes Scott College Prize and his one act play "Snowstorm Pandemiconium" won a Wilson Center Shelter Project Micro-Fellowship.
