The University of Georgia Ph.D. student Abhijit Sarmah will be one of the featured poets during the Phosphorescence Poetry Reading Series sponsored by the Emily Dickinson Museum.  This virtual event will take place on Thursday, August 26th at 6 p.m.  Registration information here.

Sarmah is a poet and researcher of global indigenous writing, with particular focus on Native American women writers and literatures from Northeast India. His work is published or forthcoming in Lunch Ticket, The Albion Review, Glassworks Magazine, GASHER Journal, Rigorous Magazine, South 85Journal, The Roadrunner Review and others.

To Emily Dickinson, phosphorescence was a divine spark and the illuminating light behind learning — it was volatile, but transformative, in nature. Produced by the Emily Dickinson Museum, the Phosphorescence Poetry Reading Series celebrates contemporary creativity that echoes Dickinson’s own revolutionary poetic voice.
