Kelsey McQueen is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Park Hall, a graduate school research assistant, and an instructor of record. McQueen specializes in American literature and the medical humanities. Her dissertation focuses on the clusters of poetry Walt Whitman wrote at the end of his life- Sands at Seventy (1888) and Good-Bye My Fancy (1891)- and presents the Deathbed edition of Leaves of Grass as a vital American Ars moriendi. She recently published an article in the Oxford University Press journal Adaptation entitled "Austen, Adaptation, and American Literature: An Analysis of Ibi Zoboi's Pride" and has been thrilled to teach both composition courses and sophomore surveys (American Literature Since 1914 and Multicultural American Literature, most recently).
