O-Jeremiah Agbaakin (he/him) holds an MFA degree in Creative Writing (Poetry) from the University of Mississippi. He is the author of The Sign of the Ram (APBF/Akashic Books, 2023), selected by Kwame Dawes and Chris Abani for the New Generation African Poets Chapbook Series. His poems are recently published/forthcoming in Beloit Poetry Journal, Cincinnati Review, Guernica, Kenyon Review, Pleiades, POETRY, Poetry Daily, Poet Lore, Harvard University's TRANSITION Magazine and elsewhere. He has received scholarship from Tin House and Key West Literary Seminar, won runner up of the Grist Journal ProForma Contest; as well as finalist of Chad Walsh Chapbook Series, Black Warrior Review contest and the Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poets. He currently teaches in the First Year Writing Program at the University of Georgia, Athens.
