The University of Georgia is proud to offer writing help through our main location and three satellite locations. Each location caters to a particular need and/or clientele. Please familiarize yourself with the locations and their offered services to determine which location is right for your appointment. Unless otherwise noted, we strongly suggest making an appointment in advance, as we are not usually able to accommodate walk-ins. Make an appointment at uga.mywconline.com

All-Purpose Help: Park Hall, Room 66

This location is ideal for students who have any assignment not in the sciences and can book an appointment during normal business hours. 

ENGL 1101 and 1102 Help: Park Hall FYC Digital Learning Lab, Room 118

This location is ideal for students who have assignments in any first-year composition course and/or are seeking help with the emma website (select days and hours). 

Science/Technical Writing Help: Science Library, Room 201

This location is ideal for students who have assignments in the physical, life, and researched-based social sciences (select days and hours). Think lab reports, dissertations, and articles. However, any student may book an appointment here.  

All-Purpose After Hours Help: Miller Learning Center, Room 341

This location is similar to Park 66, but it serves students who cannot make appointments during normal business hours (after 5 P.M. on select days).

Graduate Student Drop-In Help

The Graduate School provides funding for a consultant with Writing Center and WIP (Writing Intensive Program) training to assist any graduate student with writing in the GradsWrite Studio (Science Library, Room 402). Drop-in hours for the Fall 2019 semester are as follows:

Mondays: 8:30am-12pmthe GradsWrite studio: several desks and chairs in a brightly lit room

Tuesdays: 5pm-8pm

Wednesdays: 8:30am-1pm

Thursdays: 1pm-5pm

The GradsWrite Studio is also available as a quiet space for graduate students to write during the following hours:

Mondays: 8:30am - 1pm

Tuesdays: 1pm - 8pm

Wednesdays: 8:30am - 1pm

Thursdays: 1pm - 8pm

Fridays: 8:30am - 1pm

Online Feedback

If you make an appointment using this schedule, you will not actually meet with a consultant. Instead, you will need to attach a Word doc containing your current draft (up to 5 pgs) when you make an appointment, and you can expect to receive feedback from your consultant via email by the end of your scheduled appointment time. Requests for Online Feedback must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance.
